You’ve likely heard the buzz surrounding data analytics and their impact on many aspects of everyday life. There is no doubt that our world is changing, and technology is leading that change. At The Bonadio Group, we’re constantly reimagining our service offerings through the power of technology. Of course, this sounds sexy, but the reality is that the accounting profession has not historically been at the forefront of innovation. Many of the Big 4 firms have invested significantly in data analytics over the last five years. Unfortunately, the next tier of firms didn’t have hundreds of millions of dollars to invest in creating a data analytics platform, but the good news is that many vendors realized this demand and have created competing technologies to enable the next largest tier of accounting firms to harness the power of data analytics. As a result, the accounting profession is changing rapidly. We are making significant investments in advanced technologies as our clients expect our services to keep pace with the Big 4 firms.
The Bonadio Group’s leadership has recognized the need to make human capital investments in this area. As a result, we’re announcing a major milestone for our firm: our very first data analytics summer internship! For this position, we looked to partner exclusively with Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) who offers a renowned Master of Science in Business Analytics program (in fact, the program is ranked 29th on the U.S. News & World Report 2021 Edition of Best Graduate Schools).
The students in this program understand how to frame business questions, get the relevant data, conduct analysis, and report effectively because they are taught these skills explicitly. The RIT curriculum is designed to help students understand and connect contemporary analytics technologies with today’s business practices. The students are skilled in using big data to create powerful solutions to help companies by acquiring a broad and in-depth training in multiple disciplines.
We are excited to announce that Rushabh Shah will be joining The Bonadio Group for our Summer Data Analytics internship. Rushabh’s work experience is remarkable with skills in the use of many technologies and relevant experience not only in business intelligence and analytic dashboards but also in robotics process automation. We’re eager for Rushabh to join the team and look forward to the reciprocal learnings. He will gain experience as we help solve our clients’ problems and we will upskill our assurance and tax professionals by partnering with him on these summer projects.
Moving forward, we plan to use advanced analytics in our traditional business offerings such as assurance and tax services, but we can also provide ancillary value for our clients’ management decision-making insights. We are committed to excellence at The Bonadio Group and with this focus we continue to raise the bar and deliver greater value to our clients. This is truly an exciting time for the profession as our new professionals have an opportunity to transform the way we provide services and these new initiatives enable us to demonstrate the significant value we provide to our clients.
