Our commitment to giving is more than a one-time effort—it’s a year-round mission. From donating time and resources to holding dedicated events, our employees embody the spirit of “To Be Giving” in impactful ways. Between May 2023 and May 2024, our team collectively contributed over 10,000 volunteer hours and more than $1.6 million in firm donations to nonprofits and community organizations. Here’s a look at some of the ways we’re making a difference together.
Purpose Day: Coming Together for Community
Each year, we dedicate a day to community service with Purpose Day, when every TBG office closes to allow team members to volunteer with local nonprofits. This tradition brings hundreds of employees together in hands-on projects benefiting organizations across our regions. Purpose Day not only makes a tangible impact in the communities around us but also strengthens the connection between our firm and the causes our team members care about most.
The Big Give: Supporting Individual Passions
Now in its third consecutive year, The Big Give has grown from a month-long initiative into a three-month-long movement that embodies our commitment to community and employee engagement. This initiative empowers employees to volunteer with nonprofits they are passionate about. For every hour logged at an eligible nonprofit organization, the Bonadio Foundation awards a cash grant to the chosen organization.
The Big Give has also become a friendly competition among our PROMISE Teams, which are our internal cross-functional teams developed to bring together employees from different service lines and levels, creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mutual support. Bringing this program to the PROMISE Team level encourages employees to come together, make a difference, and support their communities in meaningful, individualized ways.
While this year’s program is still currently running, we made quite an impact last year—over 125 employees submitted approximately 1,250 volunteer hours during the 3-month period of the program. This resulted in almost $25,000 being paid out to over 50 organizations throughout our footprint!
United Way Campaign: Giving Where It’s Needed Most
Our annual United Way Campaign has become a time-honored tradition at TBG, with contributions directly benefiting programs, services, and resources for communities in need. Every year, our firm mobilizes donations that make a tangible impact for those who rely on United Way support, enriching the lives of people across the nation. It’s a reminder that a small act of generosity can have far-reaching effects, creating positive change both within and outside of our communities. Learn more here.
Year-Round Initiatives: Community Committee in Action
TBG’s Community Committee also leads various charitable events and giving opportunities throughout the year, extending our impact beyond annual campaigns. Our team organizes and participates in a range of initiatives across our regions, from food/clothing drives and toy collections for families in need, to fundraising and volunteer events that support causes such as the American Heart Association, Golisano Children’s Hospital, and more.
